Everything has a future. What might it be? This middle school unit builds on students existing curiosities and interests to expose them to new ideas and possibilities for the future. Students have choice in their topics of exploration and how they choose to present their findings, empowering them and creating a dynamic classroom environment with a diversity of ideas. Students who participated in this unit explored everything from the future of water and climate to the future of fashion and crime and built Common Core reading, writing, research, and presentation skills. This unit includes a sample schedule and all supplemental handouts.
